Raymond L. LaGarde is an international petroleum business development specialist experienced in creating
and managing successful international oil and gas companies and leading multi-disciplinary exploration and
business development teams in numerous countries around the world including projects in Nigeria,
Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Gabon and Holland.
Mr. LaGarde began his oil and gas career at Conoco Inc in 1977 when he worked as a petroleum landman in
the onshore and offshore oil provinces of North America. His international experience commenced when in
1989 he was named the Managing Director, World Wide Acquisitions of the Dutch DuPont subsidiary, DuPont
Services B.V. in The Hague. In 1991 he moved to Lagos where he played key roles in establishing DuPont
Nigeria Exploration & Production Ltd. He served as Director, Negotiations and Governmental Affairs and
participated in the first deepwater offshore bid round and developed relationships with various indigenous
Nigerian operating companies (Cavendish, Oriental, Express) until 1993. Later, back in Houston, he was
Senior Vice-President of Conoco Overseas Company Ltd. from 1993 to 1996 where his responsibilities
included New Business Manager for Latin America. He retired from Conoco in 1996.
He's been successfully involved in normal and startup oil & gas activities in positions as officer and/or
advisor since. He is currently a Director with Pyramid Petroleum.
