- Not investing the time, money, or resources needed to properly develop alignment.
- Obtaining less than total buy-in by the participants
- Poorly selecting personnel.
- Having hidden agendas, not being open and honest.
- Withholding pertinent information.
- Little trust with no shared risk.
Lessons Learned — Reasons for Failures in Work Process Alignment
- Personality conflicts.
- Lack of formal dispute resolution.
- Lack of necessary training.
- Lack of a Steward at lower levels.
- Lack of recognition.
Successful projects (and the partnering involved) require that participants resist
adversarial tendencies.
