Advanced Project Management Program - Endorsements / Testimonials PMI Clear Lake-Galveston Chapter Endoresment I enjoyed getting together today to review the Advanced Project Management class that you offer. I think it is an excellent course, and very much addresses the requests we have received from our membership from time to time for advanced training beyond the PMP, which as we discussed is a “minimum” knowledge set, and definitely leaves room for more in-depth training on various topics of project management. I particularly liked the example based approach to the material, with a chance to foster real discussion on how to handle the real issues that come up in a project. I think this is exactly on point for advanced training. Students frequently express the need for practical help in managing, and that seems to be the focus of the course. As VP, Professional Development for PMI Clear Lake Galveston, I can endorse making this training known to our membership. We can post it on the website as one of the available training offerings, as well as do an email blast to membership to make them aware of the course, as we have found that just posting things on the website doesn’t get very good penetration into the membership’s awareness. I also think that the one evening a month format will be popular with those who are busy at their jobs, and find it difficult to make a block of time available. Larry Ellsworth, PMP VP Professional Development PMI Clear Lake-Galveston Chapter PMI Houston Chapter Endorsement We have arranged with Paul Allen, retired Adjunct Professor at Rice University’s Jones School of Business, who many of you may know from our chapter meeting at the Energy corridor, to make available Advanced Project Management courses at a discounted rate to Houston Members. We have reviewed the materials for the advanced PM class and are impressed. The class is designed for those of you looking for advanced training with a pragmatic focus. Emphasis is on case study analysis, to provide guidance on dealing with the many different situations that arise during projects of all types. Though this is being offered through the Energy Corridor Venue, the course is not focused solely on energy projects, but would be useful to project managers in any application area.
